Off to Save the World


You’re off to save the world.
This mission is yours only.
I wish I could aid you,
But it’s your legend, not mine.

You’ll be leaving soon.
It’s strange to see you go.
I give you a few things,
To make sure your journey will be safe.

Off to save the world...
“Doesn’t that sound dangerous?” I ask.
“All the more reason to go!” He replies.
I’m not sure if he meant it or not.

You’ve left home by airship
On your dangerous mission.
I feel alone and scared for you.
You’re the only friend I have.

On my first day without you,
I feel you’ve taken my heart with you.
Nothing seems the same anymore,
Since you’ve gone out to save the world.

I stand at our ocean,
Our favorite childhood spot.
With my feet in the grainy sand,
I stare out at the beauty of the waters.

It was my first time being there without you.
It feels quite lonely, and yet 
I feel something comforting me,
A feeling that words can’t describe.

Just being there on my own,
Feeling the waves of water tickling my feet,
Smelling the salty ocean’s waters,
That’s when I remember.

I play a vital role in this, as well.
Don’t leave just yet,
I’m coming with you.
